    Reading the release notes is a great step in preparing for the release. These other resources help get you, your org, and your users ready for what’s coming your way. We add resources throughout the release when they become available, so check back often.
  • How and When Do Features Become Available?
    Some features in Winter ’22 affect all users immediately after the release goes live. Consider communicating these changes to your users beforehand so that they’re prepared. Other features require direct action by an administrator before users can benefit from the new functionality.
  • Supported Browsers
    We’ve made some changes to our supported browsers documentation, making it easier to find what you need. Supported browsers for Salesforce vary depending on whether you use Salesforce Classic or Lightning Experience.
  • Salesforce Overall
    Winter ’22 brings a flurry of new features and improvements. Enjoy smarter searching with Einstein Search, available by default and at no extra charge. View and manage permission set licenses more efficiently. Use the Your Account app to view, pay, and download invoices for your Salesforce subscriptions. Check out the many exciting improvements to User Engagement, Salesforce Surveys, and Salesforce Scheduler. And remember, on February 1, 2022, all your internal users who log in to Salesforce through the user interface must use Multi-Factor Authentication.

Choose from a larger selection of publicly available APIs thanks to added support for larger spec sizes and expanded limits for operations, actions, and objects. Support your users wherever they work with new time zones, languages, and locales.

    Einstein Search is turned on by default in Lightning Experience, so everyone can benefit from AI-powered search at no extra cost. Use your own external models in Einstein Discovery for even better predictions. Einstein Key Accounts Identification ranks your best accounts to help you optimize your account-based marketing efforts. Launch one Einstein Bot in many languages, helping to reduce administrative workload and providing more choices for interaction.     Compose intelligent workflows with Salesforce Flow, Einstein Bots, OmniStudio, and Flow Orchestrator (beta). Integrate across any system with Mulesoft Composer for Salesforce. Build and deliver personalized recommendations with Einstein Recommendation Builder and Einstein Next Best Action.

    Use our new Microsite template, which is based on the Lightning Web Runtime (LWR), to capture user data and create leads without the overhead of developing a complete website. Archive sites that outlived their usefulness and free up space to create the sites you need. Optimize your site performance with several content delivery network (CDN) enhancements. And build LWR sites more quickly with several new drag-and-drop components.

    Let customers efficiently set and manage their appointments without calls with Self-Service Scheduling for Appointment Assistant. Save time and money by giving your customers technical support without going on-site with Visual Remote Assistant. Prevent costly maintenance missteps by creating criteria-based asset maintenance plans. Enhanced features in shift patterns and templates help you streamline resource planning and scheduling. And with custom actions, make Work Plans work better for your business.

    Industries solutions for business verticals keep getting smarter and easier to use. Consumer Goods Cloud helps manage store visits and monitor stock better. Financial Services Cloud adds deal management and branch management. Health Cloud introduces automated benefit verification and self-service appointments. Manufacturing Cloud brings enhanced forecasting and SKU management. Public Sector Cloud makes licensing and permitting simpler and faster. Industries products that you can use in more than one Industries cloud, such as the data processing engine and decision tables, get significant enhancements.

    Enhance your myTrailhead learning experience with new options for fulfilling your company’s unique training and enablement requirements.
  • Pardot
    Getting started with Pardot is easier than ever with the new setup assistant in Marketing Setup. You also get automation extensibility and landing page builder enhancements, Engagement Studio support for drag-and-drop builder emails, and Einstein Key Accounts Identification on list views. The key accounts feature and mailability changes are generally available.
  • Revenue
    In Salesforce CPQ, a release update adds permissions to standard permission sets and updates Access permission sets. Salesforce Billing prevents duplicate payments by locking invoices until confirming a valid response from the payment gateway. Credit note lines now inherit the Tax Percentage field, revenue finance books support more finance periods, and a Customer Asset Lifecycle Management field was relabeled.
  • Sales
    Pipeline Inspection lets you create custom filters, watch important opportunities, and see which deals are less likely to close in the current month. Show a Most Likely forecast category on the forecasts page. Assign territories quicker and put assignment rules on pause. Add Inbox users to any Einstein Activity Capture configuration. Salesforce Maps helps you automate assignments for large territories. Territory Planning gives you flexibility to design territories for in-person and virtual customer visits. High Velocity Sales lets you update active sales cadences and test different versions of email templates and call scripts on the same outreach step.
  • Salesforce Anywhere (Quip)
    Get the most out of your Salesforce data with Quip. Let your users choose where they work, stay in Quip with documents that autofill with Salesforce data and records created from Salesforce live apps, or work in Salesforce with the Template Library in Lightning Experience. Speed up your Quip setup with the New Document global quick action automatically added to all your global publisher layouts. Learn about the latest updates to Salesforce Anywhere Beta features.
  • Salesforce CDP
    The latest round of Salesforce CDP updates directly addresses customer feedback and unlocks access to new data sources, such as Commerce Cloud. Look out for a more accessible experience for mapping data and major improvements in Identity Resolution. There’s also a new Salesforce Web SDK to unify website instrumentation across Salesforce CDP and Interaction Studio.

  • Security, Identity, and Privacy
    To comply with browser requirements, you must have a My Domain, or we deploy one for you. Verify your identity with biometric built-in authenticators. To help you prepare for the multi-factor authentication (MFA) requirement, use the MFA Rollout Pack. Enjoy a more intuitive consent data model and Portability Policy dashboards. Event Monitoring includes four new event log file types and more detailed Transaction Security policy notification emails. Encrypt more Financial Services Cloud data at rest. And Threat Detection integration with Security Center is now generally available, along with customizable alerts for monitoring security configuration changes.

    Take advantage of a wide range of new, intuitive Service Cloud features that help you and your team deliver efficient, flexible service. Try out Incident Management, which allows your team to diagnose root causes and resolve major incidents faster while creating a better customer experience. Use it to empower your service teams to quickly classify and prioritize work, assign the right experts, and streamline communication with customers. Workforce Engagement offers a queue-based workflow for planning and staffing tools so you can access the business analytics that you need faster. And set up Service Cloud Voice with Partner Telephony more easily with the new prescriptive setup experience, which includes templates and menus to help you create your contact center and sync it with your telephony provider.

    Resolve issues with your carbon footprint record data with Data Gap Filling. Individually lock or unlock energy use records with Individual Locking Control.
