Apex Auto-Complete in Developer Console is Being Retired In #SalesforceWinter24Release

🔥 Important Announcement! 🔥

Attention all Salesforce developers!

The Apex full auto-complete in Developer Console will be retired soon to enhance performance and optimize resources.

Why are we doing this?

The full auto-complete feature in Developer Console has become unsustainable due to its resource intensity.

Salesforce wants to ensure a smooth and efficient developer experience without compromising system performance.

What does this mean for you?

Don't worry!

Auto-complete functionality will still be available for custom Apex classes and SObjects.

So you can still benefit from its convenience and time-saving capabilities while working on your customized classes.

When will this change take effect?

This change will be implemented as part of the Winter '24 release, starting from mid-October 2023, in production orgs.

This means you have ample time to adapt and transition to the new developer tool.

What's the alternative?

We have exciting news here too!

Salesforce has introduced robust code-completion features in the latest developer tooling available in Salesforce Extensions for VS Code and Code Builder (beta).

These tools offer enhanced productivity, advanced code suggestions, and an overall improved development experience.

So, there you have it!
