Transfer Ownership of Lightning Dashboards (Beta) In #SalesforceWinter24Release

🔥 Exciting News for Lightning Dashboards 🔥

Have you ever faced the challenge of managing and updating Lightning dashboards when the creator leaves your organization?

Salesforce has a solution for you!

Introducing Transfer Ownership of Lightning Dashboards (Beta)

Now, you can easily enable ongoing updates to Lightning dashboards by transferring the ownership of the dashboard when responsibilities change or when the dashboard creator moves on.

The new owner will have full control over the dashboard contents, eliminating the need to clone or recreate the dashboard.

To take advantage of this feature,
you must have either the View All Data or the View My Team's Dashboard permission.

If you have View All Data permission, you can change the owner to anyone within your organization.

If you have View My Team's Dashboard permission, you can change the owner among team members within your team's Role Hierarchy.

Furthermore, you must also have edit or manage access to the folder containing the dashboard. Rest assured, the new owner will be granted edit access to the dashboard folder.

Enabling this feature is a breeze!
Simply follow these steps:

1. From your Setup, enter Reports and Dashboards Settings in the Quick Find box.

2. Select Reports and Dashboards Settings.

3. On the Reports and Dashboards Settings page, find and select "Allow users to change dashboard owner (Lightning Experience Only)".

4. Now, whether you're on the Dashboards tab or have an open dashboard, you can select Change Owner and smoothly transfer ownership.
