Save a Flow Without Configuring Some Elements In #SalesforceWinter24Release

Introducing a new feature that will make configuring flows even easier and more efficient.

Now, you can save a flow without fully configuring certain elements, saving you valuable time and effort.

With this update, Flow builder allows you to save a draft of your flow at any point in the building process, eliminating those annoying errors that used to prevent you from saving your work.

These errors are now converted into warnings, giving you the flexibility to save your progress without any hindrances.

Specifically, you can now save flows without fully configuring the Start elements in record-triggered flows and Create Records elements in all flows.

This means you can focus on other areas of your flow without worrying about completing those specific configurations.

To support this change, Salesforce has made enhancements to the element properties windows.

Instead of blocking the view of your flow while open, the element properties windows will now slide open next to the flow in the canvas.

This allows you to see and interact with your flow while configuring the element, providing a smoother and more intuitive experience.

We have also made some adjustments to the functionality within the element properties window.

The cancel button has been replaced with the undo button, allowing you to undo changes one at a time.

This gives you greater control and flexibility in managing your flow's configurations.

To take advantage of this new feature, simply open a Start, Create Records, Delete Records, Get Records, Update Records, or Pause element in Flow Builder.

You can also edit an existing Subflow element.

Reposition the flow by clicking and dragging the canvas, allowing you to work on specific elements within the context of the entire flow.

1. To keep your changes, hide the window, and return to the canvas, click Close element panel

2. To undo changes one at a time, click Undo changes

3. Identify elements that haven’t been fully configured

4. Save your work before fully configuring Start elements in record-triggered flows and Create Records elements

5. Move from one updated element to another without completing the element’s configuration.
